The 2020 Iowa Pork Congress
The 2020 Iowa Pork Congress will be held Jan. 22 and 23 at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines, Iowa. This event, organized by the Iowa Pork Producers Association (IPPA), is North America’s largest winter swine trade show and conference. There are more than 300 exhibitors set to communicate how they can help improve pork production operations. Additionally, there are dozens of business seminars that will discuss recent research, building ventilation, antibiotic alternatives, and much more.
SwineTech
SwineTech is excited to announce that we will be exhibiting as well. SwineTech is an ag-tech company that offers pork producers unique tools that enable a more efficient farrowing operation. Our intelligent ‘SmartGuard’ device uses voice recognition to provide aid to piglets in distress, along with sensors that control each microclimate and the health and wellbeing of each sow and her piglets. SwineTech enables customers to predict and manage costs, maximizing revenues to substantially improve labor and process inefficiencies, resulting in an exceptional quality of life for the pigs in their care.
Over the past year we have conducted numerous studies with some of the nation’s leading pork producers. Early this month, we received data from a veterinary group in Iowa that piloted the SmartGuard system in a 3,000 herd operation. SmartGuard helped them realize an exciting difference in overall mortality, 10.23% ± 0.77% (Control) compared to 7.64% ± 0.79% (SmartGuard) indicating a reduction in PWM of 25.3% at day five.
