SwineTech Inc. is looking for a full time engineer to support initial product development, production testing, manufacturing, and ongoing support.  SwineTech is a provider of technology to the swine industry that increases per-sow productivity through a decrease in the piglet mortality rate, as well as, providing health tracking for livestock.  We’re developing a “Fitbit” for pigs to provide the industry with never before seen data while helping train sows to protect their young. You have a passion for electronics.  You see an almost artistic beauty in a TQFP64.  While most people see a pile of 0402 resistors as pepper you revel in the technology that lets you make a phone call with a wrist watch.  You’ve laid out dozens of boards from analog front ends to high speed digital processors with RF connectivity. When you look at a circuit cart assembly you immediately start to identify sections and their purpose.  You have written software and understand the importance of powerful debugging features. You have modeled interfacing components and enclosures to ensure your design was both correct and manufacturable. While we realize there are few ideal candidates, what we really want are employees willing to learn, grow, and help other be successful.  If any of this sounds like you, we really want to talk with you.
Would most of the people you have worked with describe you like this:
  • Detail oriented and data driven
  • Well organized with a focus on quality
  • Learns quickly, experiments often, yet adheres to proven methods
  • Works steadily and diligently to ensure a project is fully realized
  • Is empathetic and can relate well to others
Responsibilities – you have done most of these or would love to learn
  • Parts selection and schematic capture
  • Circuit prototyping and simulation
  • PCB design and layout including gerber and manufacturing data
  • Analog, high speed digital, RF design, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Documentation of design, test plans, procedure, factory test, etc.
  • Soldering of surface mount components
  • Software development if required
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Math, Science, or other Engineering.
  • Proven aptitude for electronics design and assembly
  • A deep passion for software development and engineering
You will need to work in a fast paced environment.  While you can expect constant change we are very focused on our vision and values.  We value process but not at the expense of personal interaction and are looking for someone that can take ownership of products and production.   If you have read this far, you’re obviously interested.
